Clara holds the line on what you won't do

The most useful thing you teach Clara is what to refuse

  1. Caller Roughly what would a new water heater cost me?
  2. Clara I can't give you a price over the phone, but I can get Dave out to look and quote it properly.
  3. Caller That's fair enough.
  4. Clara He's free Thursday morning. Shall I put you down?
  1. Caller Are you coming out to Fairview?
  2. Clara That's outside the area Dave covers, so I won't book you in and waste your morning.
  3. Caller Anyone you'd suggest?
  4. Clara He usually points people to the trade board at the hardware store on Main.
  1. Caller Can you do a full rewire this week?
  2. Clara Dave doesn't take rewires on, so I'd rather say so now than book you in.
  3. Caller No worries, thanks for being straight with me.
  4. Clara Thanks for calling. If you need a leak or a heater, Dave's your man.

What you teach Clara stays yours

Your prices, your rules and your customer notes are not shared with anyone

  • Never used to train anyone else

Your instructions train your receptionist only. They never feed a shared model

  • Change it whenever you like

Edit a rule and the next call follows it. No waiting, no retraining

  • Export what you have written

Your questions and instructions are yours to take with you

  • Delete it whenever

Clear your training and Clara goes back to the basics

“Creating a second me. I can't do that with an employee.”

Angie runs Monroe Hair Beauty Aesthetics on her own. She can't pick up with her hands in someone's hair, and a missed call is a client who books somewhere else. She trained Clara on her services and prices in a day, then got her friends to call in and test it.

Frequently asked questions

How long does setup actually take?

About fifteen minutes. Clara asks a handful of questions about your hours, your services and your prices, and you answer in your own words. You can keep adding to it whenever you think of something.

Can I change the rules later?

Any time. Edit a rule in the app and the next call follows it. There is no retraining step and nothing to wait for.

What if Clara gets something wrong?

Every call comes back as a write-up you can read. If an answer was off, add an instruction covering it and Clara uses it from the next call on.

Will it ever give out a price?

Only the prices you have given it. Clara never invents a number, and for anything you have not priced it takes the details and leaves the quote to you.

Can I set different rules for different jobs?

Yes. An instruction can name the service it applies to, so an emergency callout is handled differently from a routine booking.
